Whilst supporting those children who have had confirmation of suitability for Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy SDR, to be as strong as they can be pre and post-surgery.
Pre and Post SDR therapy session include: Ability Therapies Experts recognise the importance of Physiotherapy and they are excellent at setting bespoke treatment goals for each individual who has undergone SDR. For some children, this will mean the opportunity to improve their mobility and potentially reduce their level of support, and for others it might be an improved quality of life with reduced discomfort, reduced restriction of movement and the opportunity to transition into different positions. Regardless of your child’s ability/GMFCS level, therapy will always have the underlying theme of encouraging your child to be as independent as possible. Here at Ability Therapies, our experts have significant experience treating a variety of children both pre and post-SDR surgery, with the great understanding about the trajectory of what should be expected at the different stages post op for children at different functional and GMFCS levels.
